ISQua Accreditation

IKAS aims to acheive a high international level and to continuously obtain valuable knowledge and expertise from operators in other countries working with patient safety and quality in healthcare.

In this regard, the DDKM Accreditation Standards (for hospitals and pharmacies) and the IKAS Organisation and its affiliate Surveyor Training Programme are approved by the International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua).

International partners

IKAS cooperates with a number of business partners in Denmark and abroad and the organisation holds a seat in three international councils and committees: ISQua, CHKS and JCI. 

ISQua:
The International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua) is an independent non-profit organisation which is supported by the World Health Organisation (WHO). Generally, ISQua works internationally for the preservation and enhancement of quality in treatment and care of patients. Within this context, ISQua operates as a consultancy partner for several national health authorities.

CHKS:
CHKS (former HSQ) is the leading accreditation organisation in the United Kingdom. IKAS cooperates with CHKS - for example, IKAS has made use of experienced CHKS consultants as counsellors.

JCI:
Joint Commission International is an accreditation organisation based in the United States. JCI is involved in activities all over the world.

International outreach

DDKM has invoked awareness and interest from several international healthcare institutions and authorities - especially within Scandinavian countries such as Sweden and Norway.

So far, DDKM has provided acceditation status to one institution outside Denmark: The Clinic of Mental Health, Psychiatry and Addiction Treatment, under Sørlandet Hospital in Norway was granted accreditation in 2010.
